Kasteel de Haar Foundation owns Kasteel de Haar, the park, the outbuildings and since 2012 also the castle's collection. The purpose of the Foundation is to ensure the survival of this cultural-historical monument and to keep it accessible to the public. The foundation tries to achieve this goal in particular by owning, restoring and maintaining the buildings, the park and the collection. The public function is performed by a separate foundation established for this purpose, Stichting Exploitatie Kasteel de Haar.

The foundation has a supervisory board consisting of members A and members B in equal numbers.
The Supervisory Board is formed by the following persons:
- Member A shall be the designated point of contact of the blood relatives in the direct line of the late T.F.E.H. baron van Zuylen van Nijevelt van de Haar by the adult blood relatives;
- Other Members A are appointed by the designated blood relative;
- Members B are appointed by members B of the Supervisory Board (co-option).

Members are appointed for a term of four years and initially serve a maximum of two terms. In the interest of continuity, it is possible to reappoint a Council member for a third term.

An exception to the retirement schedule applies to the head of the van Zuylen van Nijevelt van de Haar family. This person sits qualitate qua on the Supervisory Board.

Castle de Haar Foundation is not bound to a collective bargaining agreement. Concerning the salaries of the staff employed by the foundation, we strive to scale the positions and follow the wage trends of the Collective Agreement for Recreation. For the pension plan, Kasteel de Haar Foundation is affiliated with BPL. The volunteers receive only a travel allowance.

Stichting Exploitatie Kasteel de Haar aims to keep the castle, the park, the outbuildings and the collection accessible to the public in a responsible way. In the castle this happens through guided tours, in addition, the park is accessible and events are regularly organized on the grounds. The castle is also rented out several times a year in the evenings for receptions.

The supervisory board is formed by the following persons:
- The member of the supervisory board of Stichting Kasteel de Haar who is in charge of supervising the financial aspects of Stichting Kasteel de Haar;
- The member A of the supervisory board of Stichting Kasteel de Haar who has been appointed as chairman of the supervisory board of Stichting Kasteel de Haar for the even-numbered years;
- The member B of the supervisory board of Stichting Kasteel de Haar who has been appointed as chairman of the supervisory board of Stichting Kasteel de Haar for the odd-numbered years;
- Other members appointed by the supervisory board after approval of the supervisory board of Kasteel de Haar Foundation.
