Historic Chapel
The atmospheric Chapel is characterized by serenity and elegant simplicity. The stained glass windows, medieval statues of saints and colorful paintings create a very special atmosphere. The Chapel's existence is first mentioned around 1420.

Baron Etienne van Zuylen van Nijevelt decides around 1890 not only to have his ancestral castle rebuilt, but at the same time to have the Chapel restored as a castle chapel. Master architect Pierre Cuypers first had the remains of Chapel and tower consolidated until the actual restoration was started in 1894. The choir and nave are built almost from the ground up, while in the transept old wall work is still being incorporated. The whole is executed in neo-Gothic style. The restoration of the Chapel is completed in 1899.
