A souvenir from the castle store is the perfect memento of a fun day out! Recently the castle store can be found in a very special place, namely in the basement of the castle. Anneke, coordinator and head of the store, talks about the peculiarities of this location and its unique products.

Introducing

"From August 2009 I have been working at Castle de Haar. After reading an advertisement in the regional newspaper VAR, I ended up here. With my background in marketing and sales, this was the perfect position for me! My daily work consists mainly of coordinating and training our store volunteers. In addition, I arrange the purchasing of the various products."

Major development

"I have witnessed a great development at Castle de Haar in recent years. In my early years there was a renovation going on and the number of visitors was a lot less. In recent years it has become increasingly busy, both in the park and in the castle. There are few really quiet moments, which makes working at Castle de Haar a lot more interesting and varied. Every day we experience something!"

New castle store

"The old store could definitely use an upgrade, so I was pleasantly surprised that we were not only going to remodel but also move the store to the castle! As everything was well tested in the basement and the plans became more and more clear, a period arrived for me that I couldn't wait to get hard at work on the move."

Special, unique, exclusive!

"The new location of the store is so special because the store fits completely in the basement. The store has been renovated into a very nice, bright store that looks spacious. Closing a castle visit in our new store is generating a lot of positive feedback. So nice that we get to experience this!"

"In addition, the store is very special because in the past year we have developed an exclusive line for Castle de Haar, including a very beautiful 100% silk scarf with our logo. Furthermore, we have unique postcards, key chains, spoons, magnets, snow globes, and much more. A truly unique product is our own honey. This is made in our own garden, is 100% organic and exclusively available at Castle de Haar. Of course we still have the book 'Ten Centuries of Castle de Haar', of which we are very proud."
