Under the covers
Oct. 14 through March 29, 2024
The unique tour "Under the Pans" is your chance to literally get under the roof tiles of the castle, at the top of the towers and on the weather corridors. See places in the castle that normally remain closed to the public. You rarely get this high up in the castle!
During this exploration, enter the spiral staircases to hidden rooms, narrow corridors, spires, attics and weather passages high above the ground. Viewable only during this exclusive tour.

Architect Pierre Cuypers had a great fondness for towers and unusual roofs. Therefore, during the rebuilding of Castle de Haar, he did not fail to add towers, make them higher and crown them (provide them with a crown-like top). Thus, he raised the Knights' Tower to as much as 36 meters, added a floor to the Dove Tower and provided it with wooden weather corridors.
During "Under the Pans," among other things, you will get a look inside this "tower folly" by Cuypers and discover the function of the towers and the weather corridors. For example, why is the Pigeon Tower called that? A creep-by-creep tour behind the scenes of the castle. Book your ticket now!
'Under the pans' can be booked from October 14 to March 29, 2024 in combination with a regular castle visit for € 5.00 per person extra. Under 'Tickets' choose 'Castle visit including guided tour' and select the date time of your choice. Good to know: from the entrance building it is about a 15-minute walk to the castle. The tours depart punctually on time. In addition, the tour contains many stairs and is therefore not suitable for everyone.
