Discover De Haar Castle during Museum Week
Museum Week runs from Saturday, September 26, through Friday, October 2. It’s a wonderful opportunity to visit De Haar Castle and its surrounding gardens. Admire the lavishly decorated rooms, discover the stories of the Van Zuylen family, and stroll through the expansive castle gardens.
During Museum Week, the castle and gardens will be open according to their regular hours. Plus, this is your last chance to take the guided tour Baron Etienne’s Dream.
Last chance: “Baron Etienne’s Dream” guided tour
Every September, the Van Zuylen van Nijevelt family took up residence at De Haar Castle, where they hosted an international gathering of family, friends, and distinguished guests. Like a true grand seigneur, Baron Etienne left nothing to chance. His guests enjoyed lavish dinners, extravagant balls, luxury, and entertainment.
During the guided tour Baron Etienne’s Dream You’ll discover how his dream grew into one of De Haar Castle’s most special traditions. Your guide will take you through the reception halls and private quarters and tell you what life was like at De Haar during the month of September.
The Dutch-language guided tour is still available on weekdays through Friday, October 2. Museum Week is therefore your last chance to experience this tour. Advance reservations are recommended. In addition to a valid admission ticket for the castle, you will need a separate ticket for the guided tour.
