During the Whitsun weekend we participate in the Day of the Castle, an annual event where castles and country houses in the Netherlands take center stage. Castles and country houses are part of Dutch history and together with their gardens, parks and estates are part of the Dutch landscape. On the Day of the Castle these monuments are in the spotlight and we also like to share the special stories about the castle and the family Van Zuylen van Nijevelt with you.

Romantische wandeling
Het thema van dit jaar is ‘Liefde’ en we nodigen u dan ook van harte uit voor een romantische wandeling in de Franse stijltuinen, het Doolhof, Hertenkamp en het weidse Engelse landschapspark. Spreid een kleedje uit op de Picknickweide of haal een ijsje bij de ijsokar. Of neem plaats op het zonnige terras met iets lekkers van Tuynhuis Gabrielle. Samen met een bezoek aan het kasteel een heerlijk compleet uitje voor de Pinksterdagen!

Curious about the stories behind all the highligts in the castle gardens? Follow the marked route and learn all about the gardens and the noble family Van Zuylen van Nijevelt during a wonderful walk. The kids can go on a scavenger hunt for the escaped animals.

Visitor informationThe gardens of Kasteel de Haar are open daily from 09.00 am. The castle is open on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 May at 11:00 am and on Sunday 24 and Monday 25 May at 10:00 am. During the Day of the Castle, regular admission prices apply for both the gardens and the castle.
