Capture the autumn beauty of De Haar in October, capture the history in images and submit your photo for the photo contest. A jury, consisting of professional photographers, will choose the best entries in the categories landscape and architecture. You have a chance to win a SONY camera worth € 1799,- and a place in the open-air exhibition in the gardens in November. Choose from the themes landscape and architecture. A special opportunity to have your work shine in a place full of history.

Submission, prize-giving and exhibition

From October 1 to 23 you have the opportunity to take photos in the castle gardens and submit your best photo (no later than October 23:59). 

On November 1, the unveiling of the winners and the award ceremony will take place in a limited circle, between 11:00 and 12:00. Entrants will receive a personal invitation no later than October 29.
The award ceremony is also the starting shot for the exhibition that can be admired in the castle gardens throughout November. Who knows, maybe your photo will be among them!

What should your photo meet?

Would you like to submit your photo for our open-air exhibition? Then keep the following conditions in mind:

• Own work - The photo must be taken by yourself.
• Timing - The photo was taken in the month of October 2025.
• Historical layer - The photo interweaves nature, architecture, heritage and history into the image.
• Amateur Photography - The photo was taken by an amateur photographer. Professional photographers are excluded from participation.
• Theme - The subject must fall within the landscape or architecture category.
• No people - No (recognizable) people may be visible in the photo.
• No drone photography - Drone images are excluded.
• High quality - Submit photo in high resolution.
• On location - The photo was taken on the grounds of Kasteeltuinen de Haar and contains recognizable elements of the exterior of the castle or gardens.
• Equipment - As part of the photography competition, it is permitted to use a tripod and professional photo camera in the castle gardens from October 1 to 23.
