Castles and country estates in the Netherlands in the spotlight
During the Whitsun weekend, we will participate in the Day of the Castle, an annual event focusing on castles and country houses in the Netherlands. Castles and country houses are part of Dutch history and together with their gardens, parks and estates form part of the Dutch landscape. On the Day of the Castle these monuments are in the spotlight and we also like to share with you the special stories behind the castle walls. Come experience them for yourself and enjoy the vast landscape park. There will be additional activities on Saturday, Sunday and Monday:
Saturday 3 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.: Carillon Concert.
Malgosia Fiebig, city carillonneur of the Dom Tower in Utrecht, plays a combination of classical and contemporary music on the carillon located in the Châtelet, the gatehouse next to the castle.
Sunday 11 am - 3 pm: Ride a carriage through the park
Take an unforgettable carriage ride through the park. Pick up at the Châtelet, the gatehouse next to the castle, in order of arrival.
Monday 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. - Oldtimers in the park
Some 30 vintage Ford-Ts drive into the park from Zuylen Avenue and can be admired extensively at the picnic meadow.
