Saturday, September 3, 30 carriages of De Stichtse aanspanning Doorn led by Robert Elsing will ride in a procession through the castle park. From 12:00 to 14:00 you can admire all the carriages and horses. Imagine yourself in the time of Baron Etienne and Baroness Hélène and enjoy this spectacular event.

Baron Etienne and Baroness Hélène had a great fascination with carriages. During the month of September, they had horses, carriages and coachmen brought over from Paris. This allowed the September guests to be picked up from the train station. Baron Etienne was internationally known for his love of horses. He wanted the horses to be spared their hard work, so he praised the automobile to everyone.

During the 2022 Carriage Ride, we will bring the atmosphere back to the times of Baron Etienne and Baroness Hélène. Rarely will the romance in the castle park be so palpable as on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022.

The carriage ride is free to view for anyone with a castle or park ticket.
