Whether you visit Castle de Haar for the park, the wonderful history, the exhibitions, the gardens, the deer or to get married, you will imagine yourself in another world. There is a story behind every door, every detail, every flower in the colorful gardens. About other times, other cultures, other figures. De Haar is the largest castle in the Netherlands, which was once privately owned by the van Zuylen family and where her descendants still stay every year.

Volunteering: Entrance Building

Saturdays in the odd-numbered weeks

(working hours 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

The entrance building is where people will have their first experience of the castle grounds. Visitors can purchase a ticket there at the ticket machine or have an e-ticket scanned. They can also go to the information desk with more exceptional questions.
In the entrance building, our goal is to make ticket acquisition and access control as smooth as possible.

Who are we looking for?

As an entrance building volunteer, you are responsible for a welcoming reception of visitors. You are the first contact and thus the business card.

You will provide access control and assist with the ordering process at the ticket machine when there are ambiguities. You refer visitors to the right place if they have questions or if they cannot purchase a ticket directly at a ticket machine. If there are children, you offer the scavenger hunts. You scan tickets and check time slots. You also signal when wheelchair users and people with walkers and strollers are passing by with a castle ticket. You draw their attention to the fact that the Castle is not accessible for wheelchairs, walkers and baby carriages, and people with baby carriages or baby carriages you draw their attention to where they can be left upon arrival at the Castle.

What will you be concerned with?

- You will receive visitors in the entrance building and supervise;

- You provide adequate information about museum offerings (both standard and temporary offerings);
