Gardens and park Kasteel de Haar open again for regional visitors

As of last Friday, May 8, the gardens and park of Castle de Haar are open again for regional visitors after a period of 8 weeks. By popular demand, local residents are welcome again to come and get some fresh air and enjoy the beautiful nature.

Reopening gardens and park

With the reopening of the gardens and park, the castle is giving area residents the opportunity to safely enjoy the outdoors and nature, which is at its most beautiful around this time. The gardens and park, which consists of as many as 55 acres of special vegetation, will be open for limited hours and entry is only possible with a digitally pre-booked ticket. "In order to manage the flow of visitors as efficiently as possible and vouch for the safety of each visitor, we are working with access time locks"; said Cindy van der Schoot, head of Marketing and Programming. "We ask everyone to adhere to the RIVM guidelines regarding the corona virus." "With the opening of our park, we hope to meet the wishes and needs of residents and neighbors of Haarzuilens."

From June 1, enjoy all the opulence at leisure

Van der Schoot is confident that on June 1 the Castle will also reopen. "Also then we will work with time slots, so that we can regulate the flow of visitors well. Van der Schoot sees many opportunities with the reopening of the Castle: "Because only a limited number of visitors per day can enter the Castle, it will be much quieter than normal around this time of year. Visitors benefit from this by being able to enjoy all the stories, the beautiful rooms and the stories of our guides in peace." Kasteel de Haar is in the top-20 of Dutch museums with the largest number of visitors. Castle de Haar Foundation does not receive state, provincial or municipal subsidies for the museum task. For the maintenance and in maintaining the Castle and gardens, De Haar relies entirely on its own income from ticket sales, activities and events.

Surrounding the castle are the park and gardens. The park is over 55 acres in size. Avenues and winding trails traverse the park and gardens in various ways. The park forest and the former menagerie offer an attractive enclosed walk. In addition, the maze, the large deer park, the romantic covered bridge and the picnic meadow by the pond also offer attractive destinations. The geometric gardens - such as the rose garden - provide a variety of scents, shapes and colors.
